Lab2A: General-purpose input/output (GPIO) and serial communication
minicom instructions and start up, used sudo minicom -s command
used sudo minicom -con
Minicom command was not giving me permission and I did not know where to get the permission so I wrote the command ls -la /dev/ttyS0, but it stated that there was no such directory, I was stumped. I also tried to write the minicom -b 115200 -o -D /dev/ttyS0 command and had no luck. I also tried to change the serial port from the configuration menu and it also gave me an error.
Did not have any female to female jump wire available so I soldered two female to male jump wires together
One problem that I went through was trying to repair the soldering iron. From wear, it was not sticking to the soldering wire and could not put the jump wires toether. I did not have any sand paper available, but luckaly I had another tip and just replaced it with a different tip.
Ran the three commands but it said no such directory even though I chacked and the directory was there.
LED did not want to light up. I presume the reason was becuase I did not have a 330 ohm resistor. I tried different jump wires, different leds, 220 ohm resistor, and a 1k ohm resistor
Unfortunately other exercises required hardware that was not available
